SittingBull Bulldog Village

I apologize if this is a duplicate - I tried posting a little while ago and received an error message.

I know this board is mainly show brags and such, but on the flip side, rescue in Michigan and Ohio - especially Ohio really need help - mainly with fostering, but also with some home checks.  I know everyone is busy with their own families and bullies, but we have so many "homeless" bullies coming in right now we can barely keep up.

I need to know if there is anyone in the Saginaw area that could do a home check for me -
And - anyone able to foster - including if you are able to foster a dog aggressive animal if need be - please contact me ASAP.
(Fostering consists of taking the animal in, giving it a safe place to stay while medical treatment (if needed) is given, and temperament evaluation is done.  It may also require the foster person to take the dog to the vet for us)

Also - any monetary donations are also greatly appreciated.  All proceeds are 100% used for vet bills.

Thanks for your time.- anyone able to foster - including if you are able to foster a dog aggressive animal if need be - please contact me ASAP.

Subject :  Hope

Many of you are familiar with the special puppy we have in rescue right now, Hope.  She is 4 months old.

We have been trying to raise money to get Hope the orthopedic surgery she needs on her leg(s), and had scheduled the surgery for next week, though we still do not have have the funds (but the vet says the surgery is time sensitive).  This week, she had a setback.

Wednesday night, she had to be rushed to the emergency vet, as she was in respiratory distress.  In critical condition, she was put on oxygen and the vet was bagging her so she could breathe.  After x-rays, it was found that she has a hiatal hernia, and her stomach had moved up into her chest area and blocked her airway.  Emergency surgery was done to move the stomach, allowing her to resume breathing.

She is now at Dr. Wilson's for observation, and she may possibly need an additional surgery to assure this does not happen again.  Needless to say, her leg surgery is now on the back burner.

Hope is a wonderful puppy with a spirit like none I have ever seen.  She does not know that there is anything wrong with her legs, she likes to play with the other dogs, and was even getting up on to the furniture, which is something I never thoght she would be able to do.  the emergency vet said that when Hope woke up from her "nap" after surgery, she promptly started giving kisses out generously.

Hope needs all the prayers and thoughts we can muster up at this point, and I thank those of you who have donated for her.  Please feel free to pass this along to anyone you think may also be able to help, as her medical bills have gone up drastically, with the emergency surgery costing over $1,000.00 alone.

It has also been suggested that we hold some type of auction with proceeds going to help her, so if anyone has items that they would be willing to donate, it would be greatly appreciated as well.

Her picture is posted at www.rescuebulldogs.org under "Available Bulldogs" if you have not seen her beautiful face yet.

Thank you all for your continued support and concern.  I will keep you updated on her progress.
